A feast for the eyes

St. Vincent & Grenadines is part of the Windward Island chain in the Southern Caribbean, 100 miles west of Barbados and close to the Equator.

Its breathtaking scenery includes tropical rainforest, mountainous peaks, crystal clear rivers and streams and magnificent waterfalls.

It is the ideal location for sailing, yachting and diving and you’ll probably spot dolphins and whales off the coast. There are corals, teeming with sea-life, at a depth of only around 25 foot from the surface, perfectly accessible to snorkelers.

An ex-British colony, it gained full independence in 1979, but still maintains its ties to the British monarch, represented by the Governor General in Barbados. The official language is English.

Situated on the south-west coast, this is the first 5* family resort on an island relatively undiscovered by tourists.

No traffic

It is a haven for families. The entire site is vehicle-free. Only golf buggies are allowed.

Boat or plane?

A super new marina is planned, allowing visitors to arrive by boat and complete all the necessary paperwork at the Customs House. There are also regular flights to Barbados from the local airport. An international airport will be completed by 2011.

Sound investment

St Vincent & the Grenadines has only recently started to promote tourism and, with the opening of the international airport in 2011, visitor figures are set to rise dramatically. Property prices are currently a fraction of those in Barbados, so rates are forecast to rise.

Tax

There is no capital gains tax, no inheritance tax and no tax on dividends. Capital and profits may be freely repatriated up to a limit of US$100,000.
